Potty Time
Well, it's been a whole week of potty training for Sage. We were
terrified starting this process because we weren't sure if she was ready...or
maybe it really was if Brad and I were ready!
But she did better than expected!!!
I wouldn't say she is completely potty
trained- BUT, she rarely has any accidents!!
The first 2 days were hard (as to be
expected!) We put her in training underwear so she knew what it felt like to
pee her pants. Mandie gets most of all the credit for her really helping to
train Sage, and Brad and I following up with trying to be consistent.
By day 4 and 5, Sage was letting us know
she had to go potty. She would yell "potty...i go potty" and we
literally dropped whatever we were doing and went straight to the toilet! It
would take a few seconds and then we would hear that little ‘tinkle’ sound and
to watch Sage’s face light up with pure happiness! We do it all- clap, jump up
and down, do a potty dance, a little potty cheer, hands up in the air saying “you
did it!!” Her repeating us in her cute voice “I id it!!”
So, yes, I would say we are pretty much on the road to great
success!
She is still wearing pull-up diapers that we call “big girl undies”
until we master the poop portion of potty training.
She completely understands the sensation of having to relieve
herself, but getting her to the toilet in time for a BM is still a work in
progress!
I must say- we only had a handful of accidents and they weren’t
that bad! She did a lot better than I thought she would. She is a super start
and glad we are now out of diapers for one kid! PHEW!!!!

Mother's Day
I had such a special Mother's day! I got to sleep in and was brought breakfast in bed! I could hear Sage
coming up the stairs in her sweet voice saying "oh maaaama"!
I stayed in bed just a tad bit longer to enjoy my sweet breakfast, hot tea and the latest edition of USWeekly!
I came downstairs and was greeted by two very happy kids! Later that morning, Brad had to run to the store and took Evan- which left Sage and I to go on our own little date to the park!
After the fun activities, we came home and I opened my present! It is the coolest thing! It is a collage of pictures printed onto a blanket! It's sooo cool, I'm not sure I could use it as a blanket. I want to hang it!
Sage likes to lay it out and look at all the pictures- so does mommy :)
We had a fun surprise that day- Grandma and Grandpa came up to visit! And also picked up Grammie in Eugene for all of us to spend the day together. Aunt Christine also made the trip up!
All of us mother's enjoyed a wonderful lobster dinner with mushroom risotto prepared by Mike and Brad! It was delicious!!!
It was the perfect day! Relaxing and playing with the kiddos!
(ps. it was Sage's 5th day of potty training- and she is doing GREAT!! She is now telling us when she has to go and can hold it until she gets to the toilet! She gets so excited and happy and of course receives two candies (m&m's). We are so proud of how quickly she is picking it up!!)
Happy Mother's Day to my Mom, G'ma and Grandmom as well!
