Sage's 4th Birthday

I know I say this every year, but I can’t believe Sage is 4 years old. I can’t believe 4 years ago we became parents to the cutest thing ever!!! Every day, and I mean EVERY DAY, is so much fun with her. She makes us laugh each day and we just love seeing her grow into her personality. There are moments where I just look at her and take in all that she is so that I never forget how precious this age is. Everything is new to her, everything is exciting for her. She is pure joy!!

The eve of her birthday, we decorated her door with streamers and balloons for her to wake up to. We decorated all downstairs. She came out of her room on her birthday morning and tells me that there are balloons around and I say “Happy Birthday”. Her eyes pop open and in her cute little voice she asks “Am I four years old now?”!! She went downstairs and saw all her decorations and ran up to Brad and gave him a big hug saying “I just love it Daddy”

She went off to school excited to tell everyone how old she was. I picked her up early from school and we went to Toy’s R Us where she got to pick out a toy just for her birthday!

That night, Gangy arrived and her favorite friends, the Bales boys and her Godparents, came over to help celebrate with her. It was so special and she loved every minute! It was a great day celebrating her!!!

Later that week we had her Princess Birthday Party! We rented a big bounce house with a water slide attached. It was awesome!! Sage was there when it was dropped off and she kept saying “this is my castle mommy!?”, screaming with excitement!!

The day was perfect- a nice 98 degrees outside! The party started at 5:30pm and it had cooled down and was the perfect temperature for a Princess Party! All her friends came over and they had an absolute blast on the bounce house- even the Daddies too! Grandma and Grandpa Fetrow were there and a big help with getting the party going. Even Grandma made it down the water slide!
I’d say Sage had an absolute blast for her 4th birthday party. We are so grateful and thankful for all the people that could be there to help her celebrate.
Happy 4th Birthday our sweet little princess- you made all of our dreams come true!!

Camping

We spent the weekend of August 14-16 camping at a ranch that we all used to go to before we had kids. It’s called Iron J Ranch and is the home of our friend Ben’s dad, Jim. This year, we decided to take the kids down to go “camping” while still having the luxuries of a house J Everyone was invited, but only the Myers, Genny and Mac, Liz and us could make it.
We set up camp in the back yard and the kids did great sleeping both nights in the tent in their little sleeping bags. Sage was very excited to be in a tent and camping.
We cooked our meals in the kitchen and played outside quite a bit. We walked the property, played whiffle ball up at the mini Fenway West ballfield, laid in the hammocks, went swimming and even practiced my golf swing.

It’s the perfect place to just hang out, play and explore! We were able to celebrate all the August birthday’s between our friends and just have a good time together. I hope we can do it again next year!

Brad's Birthday!!

I wanted to do something very special for Brad’s birthday this year as last year was just an off year for him.
So I decided to surprise him a day before his birthday for a date night! I connected with Mandie to have her pick up the kids from school and watch them. I was able to leave work early, change and make it downtown in plenty of time before he left work.
I went into his office around 4:45pm and arrived at his desk with two balloons and myself saying “Surprise!!” He was very surprised! :)
We had dinner and drinks at Yard House- which was a cool place! After dinner, we went to the Nines Hotel up to their rooftop bar and had another drink and enjoyed the lovely evening!
After that, we went to one of our old favorite spots- Old Market Pub and played some shuffleboard (I won) and pool. We got a brownie dessert with a little candle for him!
It was such a fun date night- a perfect way to celebrate him and let him know how much he is loved. The next day on his actual birthday he received all kinds of phone calls, texts  from friends and family and even gifts from all my family!
On his actual birthday- we got to celebrate with Christine (who has the same birthday, just 11 years apart). We stayed in and decorated the house, made a cake and played with the kids! Sage loved celebrating the birthday for both Daddy and Aunt Christine!

It was a special birthday this year for Brad- which is all I wanted for him. I’m glad he felt special and loved by so many people in his life.
