Medford Trip

I took an unexpected trip down to Medford at the end of October to see my grandparents as my Papa was in the hospital. It was another trip down, all by myself with the kids!!
The drive down was great- I picked them up at school and they slept pretty much half way. We stopped in Roseburg to take a potty break and stretch the legs. The ipad was our friend the rest of the way back!
I was able to spend some time with mom and Grandma on Friday night and then we took the kids up to see Papa! It was a surprise for him to see me!! Sage was so cute and asking Papa “you sick, Papa???”
We spent the night Friday with Mom and Dad Fetrow and the kids were excited to see them!
Saturday, Lynda babysat the kids while I was able to spend the full day with Papa and Grandma.

It was great to be able to spend the day with both of them, helping them discharge Papa from the hospital and then getting him home, resting and eating!

My heart was filled with being able to be there and support both of them as best as I could. It’s not fun being away from family, but thankful I am just a car ride away. It was a nice short visit and the kids did so good with just me!

Halloween

Halloween was really fun this year because Sage was really into it. We read all kinds of Halloween books and watched Curious George Boo Festival every day leading up to our day to Trick-or-Treat! Sage decided she wanted to be…what for it…yep…Queen Elsa!! Evan was just the cutest little elephant you ever saw!
We hosted the Bales family (a fluke year for them to not be able to host) and had delicious chili for dinner. The Bales boys, who were all dressed as super heroes, and Sage set out to go trick-or-treating. I thought Evan would have fun walking with all the kids, but he was just in a little funky mood and wanted to be held. The kids were literally running from door to door! It was so fun to see Sage walk up to the door, knock and say “trick-or-treat” in her cute little voice!
I can’t wait to see Evan excited about it in years to come.

Here are a few pictures and videos from the fun night!!

5 Years!

Brad and I spent all day on October 17th celebrating our 5 year anniversary! We spent the morning shopping a little for some new outfits for his new job! Then we had lunch at the new restaurant in our neighborhood, ‘La Provence’ and had a really yummy lunch! After lunch, we headed downtown to get a foot/leg massage and enjoyed some champagne and chocolate. We headed back home to grab a quick happy hour before picking up the kids from daycare.
That evening we went out to dinner and saw a movie!
It was such a fun day! We decided no gifts, since we wanted to splurge the entire day with each other.
We spent the whole day sharing five things that each of us love about one another. It was so fun and so special to be together and reminisce the past five years and the one beautiful day that solidify our amazing little family!
We had always talked about taking a trip for our five year, like we did for our first year, but many things contributed to the fact that we couldn't swing it this year. We decided that we’ll take our big trip on  our 10 year anniversary! J We both agree that one special day and evening together and to come home to our kiddos was the best way to spend our 5 years together!

Our first dance was “Lucky” by Jason Mraz, and listening to the lyrics again, they have stayed true to how we feel today.
“Lucky I’m in  love with my best friend, Lucky to have been where I have been, lucky to be coming home again.”

“Lucky we’re in love in every way, lucky to have stayed we have stayed”
