Duck Football

Fall is officially here, because Duck football started this past weekend!!

Brad and I renewed our season tickets for the Ducks this year, and decided to get four so we can enjoy the game with friends. We also got a parking spot this year and decided to have our own tailgaters! So last week, I spent a lot of time preparing a “tailgating bin” with all the necessary supplies.

We cheered on the Ducks to win 72-0. Although the game was a blowout, the atmosphere was intense and exhilarating!

Yes, we really saw this driving down I-5! It was hilarious!

August

Wow, August came and went all in the blink of an eye! We spent the beginning of the month celebrating birthdays, and then in the middle and in the end! There are a TON of August birthdays.
So first off, Happy Birthday to my husband, Nick, Christine, Casey, Mom, Uncle Jeff, Papa, Chelsea, Ben, and Kim!

Another exciting part of this past month, I did get a new job! I started July 12 with a company called Big Al’s. It a combination of a sports bar & restaurant, bowling alley, arcade and events facility! It’s a beautiful building and a really fun place. I am their Event Coordinator and book events for the facility. It’s a different side to events that I’ve wanted to be apart of. We had our Grand Opening on August 16th. So, August has been a busy month at work, and my days just fly by! To the point where Brad calls me on his way home from work, that I realize its 5pm!

Brad and I have been busy with doing a little bit more upgrading to our condo. We had new carpet installed in our bedrooms! We love the new feel and look to it and Dexter even has his own spare carpet to lie on! We also got a new couch that we just love!! For those of you who know me well, know of my love for the legendary Wooly Bully (my old couch). But I must say, I do love our new couch and it was time to move on from the Wooly :)

We had an exciting month, but now it’s September and it’s starting to feel like Fall and this weekend is Duck Football!

So farewell Summer, Hello Fall :)

Birthday Celebration Weekend

Last week was a busy week! We celebrated birthdays and were busy doing a little updating in our condo!
On Wednesday we got new carpet installed in our bedrooms of the condo. It looks really nice and so much better than the carpet we had in there before! This time around, we’ll know how to properly take care of it with our little Mr. English bully. :)

Our friend Kelly was in town for a short period of time and we all got together at her parents house to see her before she set off for another few months of her work adventure.

Friday was Brad’s birthday! His sister also shares the same birthday with him, and it was her 40th birthday, so we went out downtown to a nice dinner to celebrate both, just the three of us! It was a very nice time.

Saturday, we went to visit the Bales family and see little Wyatt man. That evening we went to a restaurant downtown to celebrate Brad’s birthday with friends!

It was a fun week and we appreciate all of our friends and family who helped celebrate Brad’s birthday. Next year is his big 3-0! So, we’ll do something fun :)

Happy Birthday Brad!!

Today we celebrate Brad’s 29th Birthday!!

As your wife, I’m incredibly lucky to have you in my life! You are my most favorite person in this world and I love you more than anything! Since the day I’ve met you, you’ve been making me laugh and making me feel so loved!!

You are such a thoughtful husband, a caretaker to Dexter, loyal to all your friends, a wonderful son, a proud uncle, a smitten Godfather, a caring brother, but most importantly, you are incredibly loved by all your wonderful friends and family!

Wyatt is here!!

Last week was super exciting! Our best friends had their baby! Alicia and Nick welcomed into the world, Wyatt Edward Bales on Tuesday July, 27th at 2:34pm. He weighed in at 8 pounds and 2 ounces and 20 ¼ inches long! As all new born babies are, he is soooo cute and absolutely adorable!

We went down to the hospital later that evening and got to hold Wyatt, just 4 hours after he was born!! That night, Alicia and Nick asked Brad to be Wyatt’s Godfather! Brad is beyond excited and is already smitten with Wyatt. Every day he wants to know how he is doing and can’t WAIT to see him the next time! It’s been so cute to see him excited about it and already taking his Godfather responsibilities to heart!

Wednesday night, we went out to the hospital again and grabbed dinner for the new parents and of course, we got to hold sweet Wyatt more!

Friday night, we went to PF Chang’s with Brad’s co-worker Ron and his wife Kelly. Saturday we spent the afternoon visiting with Alicia, Nick and Wyatt and then that evening we went to the Beavers Baseball game to see a friend of ours sing the National Anthem.

Sunday we had brunch with a friend and then spent the afternoon at a BBQ celebrating Nick’s 30th Birthday. It was so funny, every time I’d turn around; Brad was off playing with the kids! Too cute :)

This week we are getting new carpet in our condo and celebrating Brad’s birthday on Friday!

High School Reunion

This past weekend, Brad and I went down to Medford to attend my 10 year High School reunion. It’s crazy to think that it’s been 10 years since high school. Sometimes it feels like just yesterday and other times it really does feel like 10 years ago.

We got into Medford Friday night and stayed with Brad’s parents. Saturday we went to visit with my mom and grandparents. Then we headed to my reunion dinner at Bella Union in Jacksonville. It was actually fun to connect with some of the girls I hung out with in high school. I also connected with some people that I didn’t really hang out with all the time in high school, and that was fun. Over all, I was so happy to have Brad with me, and really wished Lindsey and her husband were with us too. I think it would have been easier to tackle the “high school” reunion with your best friend from high school. But at the end of the night, it was a good time. I’m glad I went, so we’ll see if I’ll go to the 20 year reunion (only if Lindsey goes-haha-now that was high school!)

Sunday, we went golfing with Brad’s parents. Casey, Chelsea and Caleb came over for a late lunch. It was great to see them and our little nephew, who just continues to get cuter and cuter at each visit! He is smiling all the time and we got to hear his little giggle! He is just a cutie!

Fourth of July Weekend!

Brad and I enjoyed an extended weekend! Friday night, we went and saw Knight & Day- it was entertaining!

Saturday I went with my friend Genny to see Eclipse which was so good! We can’t wait for the last two movies to come out!

Brad and I met up with Kim and Sam and we all took our dogs to the dog park. After, we decided to have a nice little picnic at the park, enjoy some cheese and crackers and a glass of wine, while we let the dogs cool down after running and playing for a full 40 minutes!

That night Brad and I experienced our first Blues Festival with Kim and Sam. It is located down on the waterfront. It has a bit of a Saturday Market feel to it with booths and there are two stages set up on either side of the waterfront on the main lawn (at least from what we could tell! We didn’t explore much). We were invited to the VIP area from Brad’s company and sat behind one of the stages overlooking the water. It was the perfect night to be there, not too hot and not too cold! We hung out for most of the night at the VIP area and listened to music and enjoyed (a little too much) the $1 Beer and Wine :)

Sunday was Fourth of July! We had Travis and Tracey over for a Barbeque. Brad cooked yummy steaks from a new marinade that he found. Needless to say, dinner was delicious! Our friend Liz joined the four of us and we ventured downtown to hang out and watch some fireworks! Portland put on some nice fireworks, although we wished for them to be a little higher! But overall, it was an impressive 25 minutes of pure fireworks! Which will satisfy my fix until next fourth of July! It was a fun fourth and we learned what to do next year :)

Hope everyone had an enjoyable and safe fourth of July!
