Evan Turns ONE!!

Wow-unbelievable! Evan is one!! That is so exciting and so sad. It means I don’t have my little baby anymore!
We had so much fun celebrating our sweet boy!
Mike and Lynda came up to help celebrate his first birthday as well!
We went up to the Zoo to have a little picnic and see all the animals! We brought the wagon and let the kids run around. We LOVE going to the Zoo and we love seeing Sage get excited about it and Evan is starting to recognize the animals and can hold his attention a little longer!
After the Zoo, we came home, the kids had a nap and then we had a yummy dinner.
Grandma made a really special cake for Evan- it had looked exactly like Brad’s first cake! We sang Happy Birthday and had Sage help blow out the candle. Evan was very skeptical of the huge cake in front of him. He grabbed it and didn't know what to make of the gooey frosting. With a little help, he started to enjoy it!
Sage had fun helping brother as well. And, well….Grandma and Grandpa got involved in the finger feeding of the cake!

It was Evan’s first cake and he was such a funny boy after it! He literally turned into a toddler that day. No more baby for him- he is an independent, boy! He loves figuring things out for himself. He loves to explore and put anything and everything in his mouth! He imitates a lot- he can imitate gestures and sounds. He can say “uh-oh”, “mama”, “dada”. He can climb the stairs and scoots down really well. We are weaning him off of  formula and getting him onto  whole milk. He is teething and getting two more upper teeth in. AND He is FINALLY sleeping in to 6:30am now!

It was fun to reminisce the day he was born! It was so quick and I remember being so excited! Nothing can ever get better than those two amazing days when your children are born!
I’m so happy that he was our little boy that we wanted!
It has been an amazing year with Evan in our lives. There were some challenges in the beginning with him being a fussy baby and the transition from one kid to two! Boy- that was a hard one!! But after a year- we've finally found our rhythm and I wouldn't change anything to make it any different. Our kids are incredibly happy kids and we love spending any free minute we have with them!

Happy First Birthday sweet Evan!! You are so loved and so wanted!!!

Family Vacation- Hood River

At the end of April, the Casey family all got together for our first annual family trip! We decided to meet in Hood River and rent a house for us all to stay. Mom flew up on Thursday afternoon and went straight from the airport to a car dealership to buy her new car (thanks Brad for helping her along the way in every step!) Dad and Deborah arrived Friday afternoon and stopped by to have lunch with me!
Saturday we got up early and headed out to Hood River- the drive was perfect!! Long enough- but not too far.
The weather ended up being decent. We enjoyed a really cool house that was just the perfect size and space for the three kiddos! And the two big kids if you count Brad and Travis.
We had so much fun playing games, eating good food and just hanging out with the kids!
And the most exciting part of the weekend is that we learned that Casey Baby #2 is on the way!!!! We are soooo excited for Trav, Tracey and Harper! And we can’t wait to find out if it’s a boy or girl!
We had so much fun with Popi and Nana as well and glad we got to spend some quality time with them! We can’t wait for them to visit again!

Thank you dad for making this all happen- we appreciate everything and very excited for many more trips to come!!!

Evan's View on Things!

Evan loves getting into his favorite yoga position! We crack up every time we see him do this. He's so funny! Never seen a baby do this :)
