August Fun!

August kept us VERY busy!! And we loved every minute of it! It seemed like every weekend was a fun adventure and the week days also kept us busy. I blogged for the major things we did, but for all the little things we did in between, that is for this one.

Birthday’s- we have many birthday’s this month. On the 1st, we celebrated Wyatt’s 5th and Uncle Nick’s birthday. It was a lot of fun- then next day we went swimming at Jean’s house with the Bales clan and had a really fun afternoon.

Dentists- both kids had dentist appointments this month. It was Evan’s first. He was not a fan. But, Sage did amazing! She got her teeth cleaned, brushed and flossed. And she took all of her x-rays like a big girl. Brad and I have decided to move forward with getting her tooth fix as that could potentially get worse before she loses it. That is scheduled for October 14th. We’ll need to go to the hospital to have it done as she’ll be put under anesthesia. I’m sure that will not be a fun day.

Therapy- Evan is in “Feeding” therapy. He goes to a speech therapist who specializes in feeding therapy as well. She is AMAZING!! I feel so great talking to her and she has amazing recommendations. We have seen her twice already and will be having weekly appointments starting end of September. Evan really likes her and does pretty much what she asks of him. And Molly thinks Evan is just the cutest- because he is!!!!

Here are some other fun pictures I captured this month! I can’t get enough of these kids- they are just TOOOO much fun right now. They say the best things and do the cutest things and are getting along so great.

California Trip

Brad and I decided to take the kids on a last minute trip to California this summer to visit our friends Randy and Diane who just had a baby!
We found a great deal on airfare and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see friends and play at the beach!
We flew down Friday night and both kids did great again on the plane. This was a much shorter flight than the first one of the summer. We stayed the night with Randy and Diane that evening. The next morning, we spent some time meeting baby Adam who is just 3 months old. He is a cutie and such a good baby!! Later that day we drove up to Long Beach where we stayed at Diane’s fathers beach house. That afternoon, we went and played on the beach. It wasn’t like the beach they saw in the Atlantic, but still fun!
Sunday, we went for a walk on the beach that morning and then had an early lunch and headed to the Aquarium. It was very cool and we got to see a lot of fish and all kinds of creatures from the sea. Sage even got to touch a stingray!
That evening we walked over to the Bay to dip our feet in and check it out.
Monday, we went straight to the Bay and played all day. Sage had soooo much fun there, as did Evan. Sage calls it the “beach with no waves” and often asks if she can go back. It was so nice and she was able to walk in and “swim” in the water. She also did a little boogie board or her “skateboard” on the water. Evan still didn’t want to go into the water, but we were able to dig a hole and pour water in that for him to jump and play in. It was the perfect way to wrap up our quick California vacation.
It was great to see our friends and meet their new little baby- and most of all, see them as parents! It’s crazy to remember what it was like with just one kiddo, that small!

Hopefully next time we go to CA, it’s for Disneyland!!
