Games and Parties

This past week was a busy one for us! We had a short work week, with having Monday off from work for our anniversary weekend. Thursday we took most of the day off of work to get down to the Duck game!

Travis and Tracey came down to the Duck game with us! It turned out to be good weather, at least not raining. We all had a great time! Thanks Dad for treating us all to a game and a yummy tailgate!

A little tailgate fun

Matchy match!

Yes, we really posed like this! Brad was hiding his shirt ;)

On Saturday, we went to watch Parker play his last soccer game, which was hysterical! Imagine six 3-4 year olds running around a field all trying to kick a ball together, at the same time. It was so funny! Our favorite part was how the coaches would pick up the kids and position them and then tell them what to do. Parker was a cutie and we had fun cheering him on! And Preslie was just a sweetheart, I mean, look at that cute little face!!

Saturday night was our friend Courtney’s engagement party. Courtney and her fiancĂ© Jordan live in San Francisco, but were up visiting for the weekend. Sam and Kim hosted a little party for them. It was a wonderful evening. We are so happy for Courtney and Jordan! Can’t wait for October 15th for a spectacular wedding!

Our First Anniversary

Brad and I celebrated our first year anniversary on San Juan Island. We had the most amazing time!! :)

We left Portland on Saturday morning and drove about four hours north to Anacortes to catch the Ferry to Friday Harbor . We sailed into Friday Harbor in the late afternoon and checked into our hotel, where inside we were greeted with a bottle of champagne and assorted cheese and crackers. For most of the evening, we enjoyed the view of our hotel room and a bottle of champagne. For dinner, we ventured out of our room and walked into town and found a cute bar called Blue Water Bar and Grill where Brad had amazing ribs and I had some yummy clam chowder!

Saturday morning, we enjoyed breakfast in bed that arrived (Thank you Nick and Alicia). After breakfast, we drove to the north part of the Island to a town called Roche Harbor . This was the cutest little town, very quaint and romantic. We walked around the docks, fantasizing what it would be like to own a multimillion dollar yacht, let alone a little sail boat. We were amazed at some of these boats, and where they were from! After our walk through the docks, we went for our spa appointment and enjoyed a nice and relaxing massage. After that we drove to the other side of the island to do a little bit more sight seeing. We saw a huge buck, alpaca, sheep, cows, and even a camel. Yes, a camel!

That night, we had a special dinner right on the water at a restaurant called The Place. The meal was delicious, which was followed by us going back to the hotel and cutting into our first year anniversary cake, which was designed very similar to our actual wedding cake, so that was fun! We had a lot of time to reflect on our wedding and it seems like we spent most of the weekend saying things like “This time last year, we were…” Followed by “I can’t believe it’s been a year already”.

Monday we were sad to leave as we had such a great time. Friday Harbor was such a charming, picturesque, little harbor town. We had just arrived when the off-season started, so things were pretty quiet around there, which was fun because it felt like we had the town to ourselves. But everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Plus the weather was amazing our entire stay.

We had a wonderful time experiencing something new together and it was the most special way to celebrate one year of marriage!!

A little video collage from our trip- enjoy :)

Babysitting

Last Thursday night, Nick and Alicia were brave enough to let us watch Wyatt for the first time! It was both Brad and I’s first time watching a 10 week old baby! Alicia prepared us for what “could” happen and I was really hoping we got the worst of it, so that we can get a good measure of what it really is like taking care of a baby, and not just seeing them when they are precious and sleeping. But unfortunately, no big meltdowns and no blow out diapers. Why did we hope for that you ask? Because I wanted Brad to deal with it, because I keep getting that little look in his eye after every time he holds Wyatt :) But we did have a few fussy moments and after I tried what I “thought” was going to help Wyatt, I’d pass him off to Brad and he instantly stopped crying and was so content with Brad. Even fell asleep within minutes of Brad holding him. Then came that little look from Brad, accompanied with a suggested smile. I tried to explain to him, this isn’t normal, but what do I know what normal is for a baby. At least Nick and Alicia came home to a content little boy, so hopefully, we get a call again to be a babysitter!

Sunday we celebrated Wyatt’s baptism. Wyatt was a cutie in his little outfit. Brad was very excited and extremely honored to be a part of the ceremonies as his Godfather.

This weekend is our first year wedding anniversary! We are both SOOO excited to celebrate! We are going up to the San Juan Islands for the weekend! Can’t believe a year has gone by already!!

A Great Game at Autzen!

First game of October was an absolute blast. It was a beautiful fall day, the sun was out and it was warm!
Not to mention the fact that this was a big game for our Ducks! And boy, was it a game!! We cheered so loud that Brad's voice was gone for two days!
Nick and Alicia came down to the game with us and we had a fun tailgater with friends and family stopping by. This is our third tailgater we've done this year, and I have to say, I'm starting to get the hang of it!
Here are some pictures from our fun game day :)

Our tailgater!

Nick made us Red Robin style teriyaki chicken burgers! They were soooo good!!

Someone was a little hot :)

YAY DUCKS!!
