4 Weeks Old

I've been slacking- again! But I have a good excuse this time- I have the sweetest little baby keeping me busy :)

The time is flying- I can't believe that on Saturday, Sage will be one month old! Nothing new has really changed in the past two weeks since the last post. Becoming parents has been a huge adjustment for Brad and me. We love every minute of it, but it definitely has its challenges. We just take one day at a time, and every day is a new day. Every morning I wake up and wonder what kind of a day it will be- I have two categories, "good" or "bad".
A good day is she feeds well, naps well and has some awake time at morning and night and only gets up twice in the night.
A bad day is she is feeding well, but has tummy aches, has short naps, feeds more frequently, and has trouble going back to sleep at 4am.

The main question we get asked is, "are you getting any sleep" The answer is yes and no. It's not as bad as I thought it would be at night. It's peaceful at night, she feeds well and then we burp and rock to sleep. The thing that gets to me is that we'll be doing this all over again in an hour and a half, so I have that much time to get some good sleep in-which isn't good at all, because I constantly have one eye and one ear aware of her!

Overall Sage is a very good baby! She only really fusses when she is having tummy aches or struggles to get a burp out. Recently, she has gotten into a phase where she likes to be held a lot, but mostly only during the times when she has tummy aches.

She is getting so big, although if you saw her today, you’d still think she is small, but compared to the 5 lbs 15 oz. she used to be, she is getting bigger. I notice that her body is getting longer and her head is getting bigger and her face is filling out more. Last night, we kept pinching and kissing her chubby little cheeks!

My mom came up to spend the week with us after Labor Day, as Brad had gone back to work. It was really helpful to have my mom up here to help me with the transition of just being me and Sage. But we sure do love it when Daddy gets home :)

Here are a few pictures!
