Third Trimester! (Week 28)

Woo Hoo!! We are officially in the third trimester, although sometimes it feels like just yesterday we found out we are pregnant!

I’m feeling pretty good. I know I keep saying this, and Brad is sure tired of hearing it, but my goodness, this baby is constantly moving! He pushes his foot out so hard, I can feel it!! I can literally take my fingers, rub against him pushing and feel the foot- it is the craziest thing ever. In that brief moment, I think, how cool! Then he does it again about 10 times in 30 seconds!!

I’m trying to get Sage to feel my tummy when the baby moves, but she still doesn’t get it. She’ll still lift up my shirt, poke my tummy and then cover it up real quickly. She has however, been very attached to a little cabbage-patch baby that she carries around with her. I can’t wait to see what she’ll be like when she gets her own real life baby!

I definitely feel like I’m in my third trimester, to the day. I said to Brad, I bet I’m in my third (mind you, I forgot what week I was on and what week the third trimester started!) and sure enough, I was right. I remember feeling that way the first time around too.

I’m supposed to go do my glucose testing sometime this week and hopefully I’ll pass that. I’m not ready to give up my chocolate milk and Oreo cookies yet :)
At this time, Baby weighs two and a quarter pounds and measures 14.8 inches from the top of head to heels (although, it feels like 5pounds and 21 inches long!!)

Here’s what the belly looks like. This past weekend we went to Medford and here are a few pictures from that trip. Sage did great- although she did get sick at the end-poor girl!

Silly Face

Mandie was able to capture another picture of Sage with her face smushed against the glass door. She is such a silly girl!
Sage is ready to go out and play! We found these sunglasses during the move :)

26 Weeks

Baby update:

Life has been sooo busy with us getting ready to move, then moving and trying to settle in.

I must admit- I’m kind of bummed that I didn’t keep up with pictures or blogging about this pregnancy as much as I did the first time. It’s so fun reading back each week to see what I was experiencing and seeing if itis the same this time around.
What I’ve found is yes and no!

*I feel so much bigger this time than last time. I feel like I have no room for this baby.
* This baby won’t settle down, EVER!! He is constantly moving. I tried to explain it to Brad the other night. You know when you are sitting on an airplane or at the movie theaters and someone just starts kicking the back of your chair-and it’s annoying!! And then it stops and you think “ah…finally…some peace” and then boom- it starts back up again. That’s this baby in a nutshell. Not that I find him annoying, it’s just between him and Sage constantly kicking, poking, climbing, laying, crawling, punching me…I just want for one minute a little peace and quiet :)
*So I’m not sure, but Sage may be aware that my belly is getting bigger and that something is going on. She has been SUPER attached to me. But this could also be her age. She used to love to touch my belly button and then hers. But now she touches it and then immediately covers it up and has nothing to do with it.
*The baby is in great position. His head is on my left side and his feet kick to my right. Just the way Sage was. At least I’m not in pain anymore with the pressure of how low he was.

I think that is about it. Someone asked me what size the baby was-like the fruit size and to be honest, I have no idea. I haven’t kept track of the baby’s progress the way I did weekly with Sage. Thank goodness I get weekly emails to tell me what Week of pregnancy I’m on, because I would have no idea!!

We are getting settled into our new house and we are loving it!! It’s the perfect amount of space and something we can grow into! We are so happy we found this place and did this before baby #2 arrives. It gives us a chance to get settled and figure out our routine!

Here are a few pictures of me, my belly and Sage :)

26 Weeks!
Sage looking at the belly- but it was actually my dress that has shinny crystals on it.
Now she is interested in checking out my belly button.
Playing at the new playground that is just a half mile from our new home!
Playing at Ikea
This is so funny!! This is over at the Myers house and she has learned that she can smoosh her face against the glass.

Fake Burp

OMG- this is funny!! So, Mandie told me that Sage poured everyone a cup of tea and ‘drank’ hers and did a fake burp then looked at her and smiled! I was laughing, not believing her. She was able to get a video of Sage (which at this point, has thrown the cup to the floor and gone straight for the tea pot!)

Brad and I are still not sure where she learned this from :)

Enjoy- and listen for her fake burp.

A New Hat

Sage saw this hat in Target, grabbed it and put it on and walked around with it. And she was attached to this hat all day- after she woke up from her nap, she put it on to play!

Children's Museum

We took Sage to the Portland's Children's Museum yesterday afternoon. Sage had gone once before with Mandie. This was our first time taking her and she loved it! We spent a good hour there and could have spent even more time.
We are now officially members of the Museum and can go any time! I think Sage will love going as much as possible :)

12, 15, 18 month check up!

So I realized I never updated the stats on Sage since she turned one!!

In general, since turning the big 1 and these past 6 months, there really hasn’t been much change with Sage.
I think our biggest concern (but not a huge worry yet!) is her weight gain. Dr. Elia is not too concerned as it is pretty normal for kids this age to be very picky eaters, but he would like to see a jump in her weight in the next three months, otherwise we’ll be meeting with a nutritionist to discuss ways to plump her up.  She was 21lbs at 12 months and has only gained 2lbs by 18 months. BUT- overall, she is healthy!

Another question I think one of the grandparents asked was about her rash- her rash is completely gone (remember that vicious rash this past summer). I went with my mommy instincts and eliminated dairy (milk) from her diet all together and the rash disappeared. What was very weird about it all is that it was only in the diaper area. Strange!! So, Sage drinks Soy Milk and I hope to soon integrate cow’s milk back into her diet, once we are out of diapers.

Sage is right on track- a little on the small side for now, but she’ll grow out of that soon :) She meets all her development checks! Yay!

Week 22

Well, here we are at Week 22, and a day away from being Week 23. I can't believe how fast this is all going. I can hardly keep up and when people ask me how far along I am, I have to sit and think about it.

I'm feeling better with this pregnancy. As I explained, the baby was tucked so perfectly right in my pelvis, but I think on Sunday night and most of Monday, the baby shifted from that area and is now back in my belly area. I don't feel as much pain and pressure as I used to. And the kicks are off to the side now, rather than way down in my pelvis!

This baby is ACTIVE!!! Constantly moving and kicking. Brad is even surprised at how strong the kicks and movement from this little one is. If I lay something on my belly, you can see it move because of the kicks- really funny!

We’ve been trying to tell Sage as often as possible that I have a baby in my belly- she still doesn’t get it, but thinks my belly button is really cool and likes to poke it! She continues to climb all over me as if I’m her personal jungle gym. I try hard to just have her sit next to me, but she always wants to sit on my lap.

We had a doctor appointment last Friday and all is well. The results from our ultra sound are great and doctor says Baby is doing great and growing just right!

That’s it for now J

Nanny Diaries #5

This is a Valentine's Day edition of the ND! Kim brought over a cute shirt for Sage and a tutu, so that the girls would be matching! We could only get one picture of them- but it's the cutest picture.
Enjoy!

Happy V-Day!

Happy love day from this little Nugget!
