Saturday we had some breakfast and went to the Tillamook Factory. I had never been, so it was fun to see how they packaged up the cheese and learn some of the history. We tasted lots of yummy cheese and ice cream! We then headed to a small town called Manzanita. We walked on the beach, ate some food and did some shopping! It was a fun mini-trip and we had plenty of time to talk what life will be like in these next 10 weeks and what life will be like once our little bundle of joy greets us!
Pregnancy moments from this past week:
*We had our second baby class this week and I’m not quite sure I’m ready to go back for the next class! I thought child birthing classes were suppose to prepare you, not scare the crap out of you!! Brad and I got to experience our first birthing video where we watched a woman go through natural birth. I just saw things that I was not prepared to see and I still want to live in my happy bubble that delivery will be different-like rainbows and butterflies everywhere! =) We also practiced breathing and relaxing positions. All I should say about that is we are “those” people in class in the back that are giggling and not taking it seriously.
*We felt the baby hiccup for the first time this past Sunday. It was a cool feeling until we realized we can’t do anything to help the little Nugget :( Since then, I’ve felt the baby with hiccups several times.
*We found our Glider Chair. After doing lots of research and going to many furniture stores, we will special order a chair that we found. Something that we didn’t realize is how long it will take, apparently 8-10 weeks! Yikes! Just in time for the baby to be here...
*My allergies have been magnified during pregnancy. It's not fun...I feel like I'm back living in Eugene again.
*So lately people have been asking us what we think we are having. Brad has always thought it was a girl. For me, I’ve gone back and forth, several times! I think it’s because I’m trying to be prepared for either gender. In the very beginning, I thought it was a girl, then around 18 weeks, I started thinking it was a boy, and now I’m back to thinking it’s a girl. I’m sure next week, I’ll think it’s a boy =) But the funny thing is, I always refer to little Nugget as “he”. It’s been fun not knowing, I thought it would be hard, but it really hasn’t been at all. We feel so connected with the baby, just by preparing for him/her and watching and feeling little Nugget move…constantly! So, that’s where we stand on what we think little Nugget is, but either way, we are prepared and cannot wait to meet our precious little boy or girl =) =)
Baby Update:
Nugget is about 15.7 inches long now, and weighs almost 3 pounds, like a head of cabbage. A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds baby, but that volume will decrease as baby gets bigger and takes up more room. Baby’s eyesight continues to develop.
